top luxury brands

A recent survey by the independent and objective New York City-based Luxury Institute has concluded that Hermès, Brioni and Versace take the top positions in reputation and prestige. For the survey, men and women from households with earnings of at least $150,000 per year assessed a number of luxury fashion and shoe designers on quality, exclusivity, status enhancement and ability to create special shopping and owning experiences. The top brands based on Luxury Institute’s Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI) scores (1-10) are as follows.

While Hermés grabbed the top rank in the women’s category, Brioni ruled the list in men’s fashion sector. Versace topped others in the women’s footwear category. Consumers also ranked these brands on basis of a significant price premium, their willingness to recommend it to near and dear ones, and the chances they will go for the same brand next time. Milton Pedraza, CEO of the Luxury Institute, said…

One key finding is that the classic brands have remained strong. You can see that these brands are not only classic luxury brands, but large. With size, you can survive and thrive during a recession. What I would emphasize is that the biggest and best got stronger during the recession.

The Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI) is an independent and impartial measure of the value and equity of leading luxury brands to wealthy individuals, based on data collected from wealthy consumers themselves.
