| Instructions for BlackBerry attachments viewing and loading
The files are jpeg wallpapers and midi files You unzip them and then email them to your bb. You need to allow atachments. This way you can view the files on your pc desktop and then decide which ones you will have on your device. There is alot so I recommend rotating. Hopefully this will save on your bandwidth allowance per month. |
OnlineEmail it as an attachment to your Gmail,AOL ?? account, then using Internet Browser, go to that email on Gmail,AOL ?? account, open the attachment and download it from there using the browser. |
| :: The following is with the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) unless noted otherwise: |

(Use desktop manager and be sure to install the Blackberry attachment service) |

BlackBerry Theme Installation
See also:
These instructions refer to BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 4.1. Also refer to the Desktop Help Contents, available in the Help menu of the Desktop Manager. Verify that the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software is installed on your computer.
Extract the folder in the new theme’s .zip file onto your computer.
Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager application.
Connect the BlackBerry to your computer, typically with the provided USB cable.
Double-click on the Application Loader.
Click Next.
Click Add.
Open the folder containing the theme.
Select the com_plazmic_theme_reader.alx file and click Open. Note: if you’ve already installed the Plazmic theme reader v1.1.0.14 for a different theme, then you can skip this step.
Click Add again and repeat for the theme .alx file.
Click Next
Click Finish.
Click Close.
To activate the new theme in your BlackBerry, select the Options icon in the ribbon, then select Theme, then roll the wheel to the new theme and select the Activate menu item.
You will need RIM OS 4.1 (or greater) on your BlackBerry to run a third party theme. To check the version of your OS, go into Options (typically the wrench, or cog icon) then select About. This screenshot shows version 4.1.0.194 on the third line.
Make sure you’ve chosen a theme for your specific series. Themes are written for one of:
7100 series (e.g., 7100i, 7130e, etc.)
7200 series (e.g., 7290, etc., but note that the 4.1 update may not yet be available from your wireless provider)
8700 series (e.g., 8700c, 8700r, 8700f, etc.)
To check that the theme and Plazmic theme loader are installed, follow the examples in these screenshots:
We’ve noticed that you can potentially install more themes than can be listed in the Options / Theme screen. We haven’t seen any documentation or bug listings that mention this, but simply uninstalling a few unused themes should resolve the issue.
You may also wish to check the free memory by going into Options / Status and verifying the reading for File Free. Third party themes use a maximum of 600 KB each. ::
