Nissan announced yet another EV charging system on Thursday – but their newest offering doesn’t require any cords or cables. The very cool Zero Contact Charging System is ready to go as soon as an EV parks on top of it. No fuss, no muss, just automatic charging as soon as the EV is within range.
The longtime Gas 2 friends, contributors, and all-around awesome people over at One Block Off the Grid (1BOG) have just released a shiny new infographic comparing the carbon footprints of planes, trains, and automobiles as they make trips across town, and across the country. They say flying is the safest form of transportation, but it is also a big-time contributor to global emissions. Now I’m not saying electric airplanes are going to take over the sky anytime soon, but the winner of NASA’s Green Flight Challenge did manage to fly an electric airplane 200 miles in under two miles, using the equivalent of half a gallon of gasoline per passenger.
